almost a cat...

Cat_book_isbn_9784391130126
I bought this book more than a year ago and worked diligently until I had finished all bar one leg. And the poor thing has languished in the bottom of the workbox ever since. I just couldn't face doing any more of this blanket last night (especially as the lovely Alex over  moonstitches thinks that the stitch pattern I have chosen actually does tend to develop a bit of a lean...I knew I should have asked for advice before I ripped back two thirds of a finished blanket! You live, you learn I guess!)
So here finally is Amineko, admittedly still in many pieces, but at least complete in that all of his body parts are done. I'm hoping that I'll summon up enough energy to stuff and sew him together tonight.
I'm not even sure who he will end up with ( I suspect Charlotte, who has been a little cross about the number of things that I have been making for the baby. And then of course Rose will wonder what I might be be making next for her.....)

Cat_parts
Incidentally if you want to make one of these cuties, just click here  for the link to the authors website. She has very kindly posted the pattern in both Japanese and English.
Sort of wish I had known that before I had finished grappling with the charts and instructions in Japanese.....

portable trees....

I can't remember if I ever showed you what I did with these small trees...

Tree_pin
Made them into a 'useful' pin for pinning on....well ,things and stuff!
I'm thinking some of these might find their ways into a few Christmas stockings this year.
In the meantime, I'll be away from my computer fro a week or so- back soon, hopefully with batteries recharged and some newly completed projects to show.

the aliens have landed....

Objective: to make a one piece doll with very long thin arms and legs....

Outcome: one very alien like one piece doll with very long thin arms and legs....

Alien

maybe clothes will make all the difference!

Typewriter

This is my recently acquired old typewriter...Rose is fascinated by it and I am having a ball with it. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to use a manual typewriter after years of using the computer.

Actually I don't think that it was that much fun when I had to do a school assignment way back when on it,as my typing skills were dreadful ( and haven't improved one bit - thank goodness for spell check!)

Now, however It is the perfect tool for adding text to ATC's, swing tags and gift cards.....some are in the works and hopefully I will get a few pics up soon. Not much spare time at present as it's the last week of school holidays.Lots of cooking, visiting and kid's craft happening but not too much else!

Did manage to find a few beautiful vintage buttons though that have come in very handy for a small project that I have been working on for a friend......I'll let you know when the site is all up and running...
