the baby that ate my brain.....

I have sat down several times over the past week to write a post only to find that I have nothing to say. For me, this is highly unusual.
I always have something to talk about. However, by the time I have caught up on replying to emails and catching up on my favourite blogs, I've just about run out of energy. Then it's time to retire to the lounge and drink tea,do a few rows on my crochet blanket before I run out of steam. Not much left over for doing anything too creative even though my brain is buzzing with ideas and things I want to try.

Oh well.
The ideas will have to wait.
Approximately 8 weeks and then 6 weeks to get over the walking zombie stage that goes with having a newborn in the house once more. So I won't be the least bit offended,if you all stop visiting for about 14 weeks until I actually have something interesting to show you ( apart from newborn happy snaps of course! I'm sure there will be a few of those...)
I have managed to do a few sketches this week - these are the start of a mini zine that I hope to finish before baby 3 takes centre stage.

I have had the desire for quite a while to do a simple illustrated story and I figured a mini zine was very do-able! Easy to make copies and light ( ie inexpensive!) to send.
So for those of you who are willing to hang about and be patient, I will be happy to send you a copy to take a look at. All feedback welcome as I hope later to  expand it into something a bit more substantial. Just send me your snail mail address and as soon as it is done I will send you a copy. Consider it a small thank you for dropping by and taking the time to spend a few minutes with me. I'm almost sure my second blog anniversary is coming up, so it's a good way to mark that as well.
( There are several of you who don't need to send me your address...you should know who you are - you will get one without asking!)
Hopefully I will have my act together enough to have a little anniversary giveaway- can't guarantee that though as I might only feel inclined to sit on the afore mentioned lounge and eat icecream in celebration of the two year mark instead!

Rose has just wandered in with a drawing that she made just for  me...proof that someone in the house has not lost their creative momentum at least! The proud mama that I am, I just had to pop it up for you to enjoy ( all comments most welcome and will be passed on, I promise!)

Hi Marianne!!

I love your drawings and would love a copy of any little zine you create!

Dash that baby brain!! I am always impatient to see your blog posts! I will just have to learn to be patient I suppose - baby and you are more important than my desire to read your blog!!

D

You know where we live ....
We'll be waiting.
By the letterbox.
Patiently.

I would love a copy as well, but I live in the Netherlands, so I don't mind if you wouldn't send me one.
Roses drawing is beautiful! :)

Rose's drawing is lovely, as is yours.

That happy cloud is just, well, the HAPPIEST! What a talented little one you have!

I still have 'baby brain' almost 10 years on! Would you please tell Rose that I think her picture is delightful. I like the little bird hiding in the tree, the joyful girl, the happy things up in the sky and all the attention to detail. What a lovely place to visit!

Rose: what a beautiful and happy drawing!! I love how everyone and everything is so Happy!!!

and I would love to receive a copy of your zine to 'preview' for you...Your sketches always make me smile!!!

I love your little bird Rose. You must be getting very excited about becoming a big sister again, what a help you will be this time!

And Marianne, of course you know we would love one of your little zines in this household. Thank you!

G'day Marianne & Rose ...
Well Rose I can see you have your Mummy's talent and attention to detail ... what a delightful drawing ... my Grandies give me lovely pictures like that to hang on my frig - & they check each time they visit to make sure they are still there ... ha ha.
I would love to receive you zine, Marianne and don't mind the 'baby' brain or the 'baby' energy, relax on the couch as much as you can, you will need all your strenght and any reserves you might of tucked away in some weeks time ... ohhhh how I remember that zombie state ... ha ha and you know before you know it they will be all grown up - time passes so quickily but I do still remember at the time it seemed like it would go on forever ...

Good luck with your zine and the last few weeks of your pregnancy and please let Rose know that I think her drawing is lovely! If I was one of those birds I too would live in a tree like that!!

Rose definitely inherited your artistic talents. The baby bird in the apple tree is just precious, and all those smiley kawaii faces. I read your article in Cloth etc.etc. magazine the other day. It's a wonderful piece and so interesting to read about your creative process.

I am sure we really don't need all that patience, since i am sure most of us have your blog in "the favorites"...

Oooh I would love a copy of your zine! I've been encouraged a lot by your creative work over the last year that I've been reading. And don't worry about babybrain....sometimes it's best to just focus on one thing at a time, especially if that one thing happens to be a precious amazing creature waiting to enter the world and become part of the joy of your family.

Tell miss Rose that I love her new work and would be proud to have made it. :-)

your drawings are fantastic! i would love to see a copy of your mini-zine if i may be so bold. :)

Rose is quite the artist! I can see she definitely takes after her mama :)

Also wanted to let you know that I have a grand giveaway going on at my blog if you wanted to go check it out :)
