fit for a fairy.....

Rose has been making fairy beds....

Fairy_bed_small

and I have been making a hat for my very own fairy girl...all it need is a crocheted edging and a flower to finish it off!
The wool is the 'rose  garden' colourway in the raindrops wool that I have for sale here. Lucky for me that there are some other fans of the Rainbow wools out there...sales have been very steady and I might just have to put in another order. I just love choosing which colours to buy, although I usually have to go back and narrow it down when I realise I've ordered way to much!
Rose_hat.

A beautiful package of ribbons and treats arrived late last week from Tamara over at Bluebird makes her nest. Ribbons in school colours for Rose and a fabric brooch each for Charlie and I.
Tamara and I  recently worked together to design a logo and packaging for her business 'ella and kate'.
(That's the new packaging in the photo)
Seriously if you have or know a little girl who loves ribbons ( and how many little girls don't) then you really should take a look. Tamara uses the most wonderful colours and print combinations to make hair bows on both elastics and clips. My girls adore  them. The girls I have given them to adore them. I also adore them but feel I might just look a little bit silly dressed all up in bows. Sigh.....

painted knits...

Charlotte and I are off next week to have a look at an exhibition of work by Lucy Culliton: The Show [domestic science]. My mother in law Maggie, went to see it last week and absolutely adored it.

Lucy_culliton_2

What is there not to love about iced Arnott's arrowroots? She has just captured them perfectly.
Apparently her paintings of knit items have to be seen to appreciate the detail and the texture.( Look Alex, your doll!)

If you aren't able to make it to the gallery have a look at more of her work here. You will also find the gallery details and dates at the same website.
Must go and finish smallpeople no 27...between packing postcards and sorting wool , my cutting and pasting has fallen a bit behind....

..the response to the smallpeople postcards has been overwhelming!  Thank you so much for the support!
( I will sit down and organise invoices tonight after my one glass of champagne (Ok maybe two but I definitely have to stop there because I am meant to be in training for the half marathon in four weeks - and I don't seem to recall champagne being on the list of recommended foods for runners...)

smallpeople postcards

I was so excited when these finally arrived - then, of course I had to work out how I wanted to package them.
At last though, here they are- my very own set of  'smallpeople' postcards.

it's who you know....

No collage tonight because my wonderful brother ( oops, almost wrote bother) arranged tickets for Georgie- the- wonder- girl and I to see Sarah Blasko perform.

We arrived at the Enmore theater to find it looking kind of dark and kind of well, closed.
Hmmmm, not such a good start.
One quick phone call and I realised that I had the venue wrong - the show was at the Seymour Centre not the Enmore theater ( I really should pay attention to the small but important details). Luckily we were only a five minute drive away and made it just in time.
Sarah and her musicians ( Melissa, they even had a cello!) were amazing, wonderful and brilliant - what more can I say?
Except that next time you get me comp seats, Adam, I want front row, not just three rows from the front and dead centre.... oh and a champagne brought to me in the interval would be nice!
Just joking, best seats I've ever had for a musical performance( and they were free!).....I would have been happy to be let in to stand up the back to hear Sarah sing ( yes, she was that good). Thanks, Adam!

Tomorrow, the girls and I are off to Wollongong to see the play "Pearlie in the Park"
Georgie-the -wonder -girl knows Pearlie ( or at least the lovely girl who plays her part!) and organised some tickets for us. Rose can't wait to see one of her storybooks come to life and Charlie just can't wait to see a fairy! Hurly burly Pearlie!

And the moral this week is...it's definitely WHO you know!

Zach's a little behind schedule because I couldn't find just the right teapot...at one point, I tried a clock but it didn't seem quite right....after all it was a teapot I had been picturing right from the start.
In the end, I gave up my search and just made a teapot.
A bright yellow one.
With flowers.
There you go, smallpeople no 024, complete!
