In search of creative inspiration
My girls have that lovely book " Going on a bear hunt" which we read so often that we know it all by heart.
At the moment my own personal version goes something like this...
uh,oh.
A wall
A big, blank creative wall.
Can't go over it.
Can't go under it.
Can't go around it.
Guess we'll have to go through it.
Thud . Thud. Thud.
( that's the sound of my head hitting against that big blank wall........)
The last few weeks I just seem to have lost the momentum for creating things. I do have a few projects on the go ,which have been great to fall back upon in times like these when you need to keep your hands busy. Usually though I have endless ideas for things I want and need to create buzzing around in my head- my head has been curiously quiet as of late.
January- itis perhaps? Does anyone else suffer from this malaise as well? And if so , what do you do???
In an effort to lift myself out of the creative slump I'm currently wallowing in ( I hate to wallow- so self indulgent) I decided to embark upon a strictly one evening project. I think it helped . In fact I kind of enjoyed it enough to do another the next night. The inspiration was borrowed from here and this is what I ended up with....
Hmmmm...maybe, just maybe, I've made a small dent in that big blank wall!

I have a rule. At the start of the year, I have to complete one UFO before I start anything new. Just one. Big or small. But there's nothing like it to ensure the crafting creative block is busted. Give it a whirl!

Oh the buzz, the buzz. It's deafening over here. When we went on holidays, I took one WIP and one baby gift for a friend to work on. I did get quite a bit done, but not all that I wanted too. And now they sit there, calling me. But i'm too busy, fabric fondling, deep in thought. And reading blogs and not getting anything in particular done. But I do love your bookmarks....

Aaagh, yes! I think I have January-itis too. I'm thinking it's a summer holiday thing - trying to take a break from all the "normal" goings on in life, sometimes that means even crafting goes on holiday!
Your idea of a little stitching project was a good one though, and they turned out beautifully.

I'd blame the lawnmower :) Creativity zappers those things.
