Thank you, thank you, thank you Marianne. You are one very kind lady. Now, I'm not doing this for ANOTHER prize, I am just loving talking about these songs. I remember after one of my short lived romance break-ups (I had many), the song that I played over and over and over again was "Candy" by Iggy Pop and oh, what was her name, from the B-52's. And I sang a bodice ripping version. "I've had a hole in my heart for so long, I tried to fake it and just smile along". Not your classic tragic love song, but it did it for me. And, of course, "Total Eclipse of the Heart". For soppy songs that I love to hate, "I've been to paradise, but I've never been to me". Need I say more.

Nichola

Ok then, how about Poison, Something to believe in ? It's not exactly a tragic love song but it does want to make you cry.

Robyn

Well, what about Unbreak My Heart by Toni Braxton or Every Rose has It's Thorn by Poison?
And don't feel guilty about buying new yarn. It was eco-friendly after all. :0)

look at you and your swaps. you are amazing. you have the right idea with giving things away. i look around sometimes and know that others could use some of the things I have not touched in years.

as for songs...lets see. How about a little relaxation with contemporary composer Arvo Part. I may just have to send you a copy of Fur Alana. I listened to it during labor and it contributed greatly our choice in Alean's name.

you are truly my other half....

Sasha

"Leader of the Pack" I had a friend that used to sing this song in beauty school constantly. I know all of the lyrics and I never want to hear it again, but I just might choke up if I heard it. Or for a little Elvis "Are You Lonesome Tonight"

The green is lovely.

Sweet Jane by the Cowboy Junkies is my sad song, but is it supposed to be a love song?

Rebecca

I know its cheesy but Sinead O'Connor's 'Nothing Compares to You' still brings a tear to my eye. And so does 'I still havent found what I'm looking for' by U2, am I showing my age ....

justine

I love the topic, I don't want to go in the draw (as I have a magazine in the mail) but I wanted to leave my tragic song Is This Love by Whitesnake................... :)

gkgirl

hmmmmm...
tragic love song?

i've seen alot of my favorites
already listed so i'll try to be original
even if it means going WAY back...

my first tearjerkerlovesong
was don't cry joni by conway twitty
(i swear i am not a loser,
just my parents listened to bad
country music when i was a kid...heh)

when i was older
i loved "sometimes it snows in april"
by prince...

:)

Oh I keep logging in too late. I wanna say something tragic and bad glam rock like from the 80's, but I can't think of anything.Ooo except maybe how about Never Tear Us Apart by INXS. Rock Ballad! I loved INXS. Perhaps tragic would be better allpied to me rather than the song?!

Julie

I hope im not too late to join in tis one - It just came to me - Whitney Houstons - "I will always love you" - nice idea!!

Anastasia

I too thought of Whitney Houston LOL
but my suggestion for something cheesy and sad is Gloria Estefan's 'Dont want to lose you now'

Yeahh to MummyJo!!

Alex

I know, I'm too late. So just because...
'Love will tear us apart' Joy Division
