I love the juxtaposition of illustration on wallpaper-y pattern. And the cupcake reminds me of Nigella Lawson’s' in her Domestic Goddess cookbook. Have you seen it?

I really like your take on "cake". That little girl is adorable with her hands behind her back...reminds me of my dd when she's trying to look all cute to get something she wants (such as cake lol!)
BTW - I found out about IF via your blog. I kept seeing "Illustration Friday" and I got curiouser and curiouser until I just had to Google it. It looked like fun so I joined in this week too.
