bricks, bricks and more bricks...
After my visit to the beautiful garden in Leura I have decided to get to work on transforming my own patch of dirt. Oh and bricks. Unfortunately, the previous owners knocked down an old garage, threw a ton of dirt over the top, and voila, garden. This means that everytime I go to plant something, I hit a brick. Or two. Generally three and a stack of old tiles, china, sandstone. You name it- they threw it into the garden. So my options are to either plant around the chunks of concrete and bricks or do a lot of work first digging them all out. I think that the second option is the best way to go even though it means hiring a kanga to break up some of the bigger slabs of concrete. I made a start this week and already have quite a pile of broken bits to go to the tip - once that's all done, some new soil and hey presto, ready to plant...stay tuned..here are some before shots so that you can all be suitably impressed when I post my after shots (but it won't be anytime soon I'm thinking...)
Charlie's going to help although I think she'll be needing a bigger shovel..
